Panic at Summit Peak!
Today I went back to Summit Peak to record the autumn version of the scene depicted below in May. The colors were spectacular indeed. Moments after I took this shot I lost my grip on the camera and sent it tumbling over an 80 foot cliff. I felt compelled to find it and give it a proper burial, so I scrambled down the precipice to be confronted with dozens of places it could have landed. I gave one more glance backward before giving up the search and spotted it against a tree trumk. It was scratched and dented, minus the batteries. I powered it up with a spare set - and it worked!
